The Paris Haute Couture Fashion week 2017 wrapped up last week showcasing the biggest fashion houses from Chanel to Dior and Gambattista Valli. A-listers from around the globe flocked around the beautiful french capital to attend the Paris fashion week.
Here is all the top highlights from the four day long event you might have missed.
1. Sonam Kapoor walked for Ralph and Russo
We all know how loyal Sonam Kapoor has been to the fashion house Ralph and Russo. She has been spotted wearing the label for major international appearances. What was interesting this Paris Fashion week, was to see her walk the ramp for Ralph and Russo as a showstopper in an ivory bridal gown. She was decked in embellishments and long trail gown. It was indeed a proud moment to see Indian celebrity walking for an International label.
2. American label debut at Paris
American Label debut at Paris Irrespective to borders and restriction Paris was welcoming this couture. Ready to wear label Proenza Schouler and Rodarte were the most significant incomer this season. The American ready to wear label merged their signature conceptual urbanity with craft and class at the couture this schedule.
3. Celine Dion’s fashion moments
The legendary signer needs a special mention for her enviable couture looks. In just one week, Dion wore outfits from high end designers like Dior and Giambattista Valli to attend the runway shows. She had swoon worthy style moments at Paris this season. After all there is a reason she has a reputation as queen of couture.
4. Dior celebrated its 70th anniversary.
Dior showcased Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at Muse’e des de’coratifs.
On the mark of 70th anniversary Dior showcased the evolution of Dior’s style across the decades with over 300 gowns from 1947 until the present day.
5. Karl Lagerfeld honoured
Chanel has a reputation for its grand runway. This schedule was no different as Chanel rebuilt the Eiffel Tower under which the collection was showcased. However the talk of the day, post Chanel’s presentation was when Karl Lagerfeld received Paris highest honour – LA Me’daille Grand Vermeil de la Villa de Paris from mayor Anne Hidalgo.
